Mike Mohr became a Freeway Service Patrol operator in February 2003. He joined the program with no towing experience but quickly adapted to the many challenges of the job. Mike was previously the Driver of the Quarter for the 2nd Quarter in 2004 and he just continues to excel.
Mike currently patrols the busy Highway 50 corridor from Watt Avenue to Stockton Boulevard.
He has never been late or missed a day of work. He maintains a positive attitude while assisting motorists and working with his co-workers. Throughout the year motorists have taken the time to express their appreciation in writing to the Sacramento Transportation Authority. Commuters refer to Mike as professional, courteous, friendly, and helpful.
Mike says that what he likes most about his job is that he gets to help people get out of dangerous situations. He says he finds that really rewarding. Although his job is dangerous—and he certainly has been in his share of difficult situations—he says that it suits his personality well.
When not out patrolling the freeways, Mike enjoys working out and watching NASCAR.
