Sacramento Valley Station: Connecting the Region’s Future

The Sacramento Transportation Authority (STA) is partnering with the City of Sacramento by providing Measure A taxpayer approved funds to develop the Sacramento Valley Station. Located at 4th and I Streets in downtown Sacramento, this multi-phased project will incorporate the latest in innovation for all modes of transportation: 

• 17-acre region
• 1^st municipality worldwide to receive Vision Plan sustainability certification
• 2^nd busiest Amtrak system station in California
• Creates a transportation gateway
• Integrates rail, bus, vehicle, and nonmotorized facilities
• Ensures mobility and accessibility
• Improves Interstate 5 freeway access
• Opens an historic tunnel into a new and modern downtown plaza
• Forms a five-block cycle track
• Generates net positive energy
