Working Together to Make Sacramento County’s Streets and Roads Safer for Everyone
August 19, 2026
Everyone should be able to travel safely throughout Sacramento County—whether driving, walking, biking, using transit, or rolling.
The Sacramento Transportation Authority is launching a Countywide Comprehensive Safety Action Plan to help reduce fatal and serious-injury crashes on roadways throughout Sacramento County.
Developed through the federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program, the plan will bring together the County, cities, SacRT, transportation agencies, community organizations, and the public. It will build upon existing local safety plans, analyze crash trends and high-risk locations, and identify practical projects, policies, and proven safety measures that can be implemented across the county.
Opportunities for the public to help shape the plan will be announced as the project moves forward.
